Industrial Air Power was formed in Bridgend, South Wales in 1980 to meet the needs of Ingersoll Rand’s customers who were looking for a company able to provide service & installation of compressor products locally in South Wales.
The company later expanded its service base in Plymouth, Devon where it provides customers in Devon & Cornwall with local sales, distribution, repair and maintenance services for Ingersoll Rand air compressor products.
Industrial Air Power employs a team of mobile service engineers in both locations trained to undertake routine compressor maintenance and repairs 24/7 for all major manufacturers’ air compressors. The mobile engineers also perform routine energy audits and advise customers upon the most cost effective method of producing compressed air in locations throughout South Wales including Bridgend, Cardiff, Swansea, Port Talbot Carmarthen, Milford Haven, Haverfordwest, Barry, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, Ebbw Vale, Chepstow, Avon & Gloucester and for many major customers in towns in Devon & Cornwall including Plymouth, Exeter, Newton Abbot, Barnstaple, St. Austell, Truro, Falmouth, Helston, Penzance, Totnes, Honiton, Crediton, Dawlish, Okehampton, Tavistock,Tiverton, Saltash, Liskeard, Bideford, Ilfracombe, Bodmin, Launceston, Padstow, Taunton, Bridgewater, Yeovil & Bristol.
The company has completed a D.T.I. quality initiative programme and has a fully documented quality procedure manual and quality system with accreditation to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 which is audited annually by NQA.
Being concerned about its operational impact on the environment the company and has been awarded an environmental agency certificate, accredited to level 2 of the Green Dragon accreditation programme. Industrial Air Power also operates a comprehensive Health & Safety System, working in conjunction with Thomas Carroll Management Services. This partnership has resulted in the company achieving a “Safe Contractor” certification.
Industrial Air Power is a member of the British Compressed Air Society, who keeps members up to date with any legislative changes affecting the compressed air industry.
"IAP received a competitive tender enquiry from Denholm Zholdas in Kazakhstan, a subsidiary company of Denholm’s Oilfield Services Division, for an air compressor capable of delivering 600 cfm @ 10 bar, plus an air purification system, air receiver and ancillary pipe-work. The compressor was required for shot blasting and painting services, general workshop maintenance and metal fabrication in their new workshop facility in Tengiz , Kazakhstan. IAP are pleased to announce that they were successful with their bid and received of an order from Denholm MacNamee, a subsidiary, for an Ingersoll Rand variable speed,rotary screw compressor, model R132N, 132KW, operating at 10 bar, also an Ingersoll Rand heatless desiccant dryer model D1600IL, air filters and a compatible energy management system which will ensure long term energy-efficient operation. The pipe-work distribution system was produced in 80mm and 50mm diameter TESEO aluminium extruded sections, together with all ancillary fittings for assembly on site. Paul Fisher, the Managing Director of Relay Engineering Plymouth,a Denholm Oilfield Service company, remarked: "I am extremely pleased that the Denholm Group has now decided to source all of its compressed air plant and ancillary equipment from Industrial Air Power. In future IAP will provide all of the group companies with their compressed air requirements."
